Eight days to go!

Screen Shot 2013-06-14 at 15.41.58After months of planning, the big yak is nearly here! On Saturday 22 June we are expecting around 200 internal communication professionals to our first ever unconference and can’t wait to see you all.

Pictured L-R is Rachel @AllthingsIC, Jenni @jenniwheller and Dana @danaleeson at one of our many planning sessions. We’ve enjoyed hearing your ideas and are pleased people are looking forward to coming. We have comms pros flying in from Ireland, Abu Dhabi and Denmark.

It’s crucial that we have a complete list of who is due to come, so we can give eBay’s security team a list (and you get a name badge).

So if you are on the waitlist for a (free!) ticket and get an email from us saying a ticket it available, do grab it in the 24 hour window or it’s not yours. We’d hate for you to turn up on the day and not be expected. So please help us prevent that happening by ensuring you claim your ticket.

Not got a ticket? There’s still time to add yourself to the waitlist. It will close on Wednesday 19 June because that’s the date we need to submit the list to the security team.

If you are no longer able to come, do please let us know because there are around 20 people on the list constantly and we will be able to reassign your place.

It’s an informal event, so no suits needed, it is the weekend after all. Want to know full information about the big yak? Here’s how:

There are treats galore in store thanks to our super sponsors and particularly their swag bag generosity.

Our friends at VMA Group will be holding comms career clinics throughout the day, so you can grab them for a chat to talk through any questions you have.

Our principal sponsors are Theblueballroom and VMA Group. Gold sponsors: Yammer and ego-creative. Silver sponsors: scarlettabbottWords&PicturesNixonMcInnesComment8. Bronze sponsors: abSequel Group, HarknessKennett. Thank you also to our media sponsors: Communicate Magazine and simply-communicate.

We’re proud to have Benjamin Ellis @benjaminellis facilitating the day for us and if you want to hear what he thinks about the event and what you can expect, watch last week’s #simplytv replay.

The big yak literally wouldn’t be possible without our supporters and sponsors, so thank you (and Jenni’s spare bedroom which is currently piled high with yak-related paraphernalia).

CommsChat
On Monday evening, 17 June, we will be hosting #commschat and whether you’re able to come to the unconference or not, it would be good to see you there. It’s a chat that takes place on Twitter every Monday between 8-9pm UK time.

Dana will be tweeting from @theICcrowd and her own account (she’s a multi-tasker extraordinaire!) and Jenni and Rachel will be using their own accounts. We’ll be discussing internal communication and of course #thebigyak.

Check out the details via the CommsChat website and to join in, just be on Twitter at that time and use the hashtag #commschat in your tweets to participate.

See you soon, either in person or online…
